Young, Dumb, and STILL NOT Broke?!: Re-Releasing My Personal Finance Book 8 Years Later

In 2018, I published Young, Dumb, and NOT Broke?!, a simple book covering personal finance aimed at early 20-year-olds. The book was not a New York Times best seller by any means but it is something I was and am still extremely proud of. Is it cringe looking back on it? Yes. Did it help me grow as a person by putting something out into the world I am proud of? Absolutely.

To be frank, I had no idea what I was doing. I wrote each chapter individually in my apartment in Atlanta, Georgia, combined them in Microsoft Word, and hired a friend of a friend to edit it. I paid a guy on Fiverr to make me art for the logo and the cover. I found another guy who I hired to build me my first website because “You’re not going to sell anything without an online audience”. This was my first time even hearing about building an audience to leverage them to sell something. I was hooked.

I then spent weeks, literally weeks, learning and trying to get everything formatted correctly. Double and triple checking before I finally uploaded the book to Amazon’s self-publishing service. By the way if you haven’t heard of this, it’s an incredible product and so easy to use.

After that, I developed a blog and wrote hundreds of posts. Yes, they are still active and actually on the website you are on now (I’m moving everything over to my personal brand). Then I made another couple of hundred YouTube videos. Naturally, this led me into course creation, consulting, affiliate marketing, and all other things to leverage an online audience.

Circling all the way back now, 8 years later, I want to see if what I wrote all those years ago in that grammar error-filled book was actually decent advice. This re-release marks not just 8 years since the original book, but 8 years of building businesses, testing strategies, and learning what actually works in the real world.

To do this I’m going to re-release Young, Dumb, and NOT Broke?! But with added content around what would have happened if you had followed some of the tips and tricks within the book. These include examples like what would have happened in 8 years if you had budgeted, invested in a simple index fund, or gotten out of debt.

The new book will be called Young, Dumb, and STILL NOT Broke?! and it will be released again on Amazon in April of 2026.

For everyone who has supported me through this journey I want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who bought the original book, left reviews, sent me emails about your progress, or just cheered me on from the sidelines.

It’s been fun and we’re going to keep on going.
